CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Defending Class Single-A boys champion
Charleston Catholic cruised past Greater Beckley Christian 72-to-48
in the quarterfinals today at the Charleston Civic Center.
Second-seeded Charleston Catholic moves on to face number three
Williamstown in Friday's semifinals.
For the Irish, Bo King had 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Joe
Sassler had 16 points and John Busse had 12 points and eight
rebounds.
Seventh-seeded Greater Beckley Christian has eight seniors but
this was school's first-ever tournament appearance.
The Crusaders were overwhelmed from the start by Charleston
Catholic's full-court press and speed.
The Irish led 22-to-6 six minutes into the game and 40-to-19 at
halftime.
Robert Rogers led Greater Beckley Christian with 18 points.
