Justin Caldwell's basket with four seconds left in the game lifted Wyoming East past Winfield 59-to-58 tonight in the Class Double-A semifinals.
Top-seeded Wyoming East will face number three Logan for the
title tomorrow at the Charleston Civic Center.
Fifth-seeded Winfield came from six points down in the final two
minutes to take a 58-to-57 lead on Todd Hutchinson's three-pointer
from the top of the key with 25 seconds left.
Wyoming East's Nick Rezzonico missed the front end of a bonus
free throw with eleven seconds left but the Warriors got the ball
back on a tie-up.
Caldwell took a pass in the lane and made the go-ahead basket.
Hutchinson missed a shot from the right corner at the final buzzer.
Jason Shrewsbury led Wyoming East with 17 points and Caldwell
and Cory Willard had 15 apiece.
Caleb Ashley had 26 points and ten rebounds for Winfield.
