CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Justin Caldwell scored 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to help preserve top-seeded Wyoming East's 61-to-49 win over Logan today in the Class Double-A championship game.
Wyoming East earned its first title since 2002.
Cory Willard added eleven points for Wyoming East.
Brett Sorrell had 14 points and Jacob Long ten for third-seeded Logan.
Three-point plays by Jason Shrewsbury and Caldwell gave Wyoming East the lead for good, 45-to-41, with 5:22 remaining.
Wyoming East made 12-of-16 free throws in the final three minutes and finished the game on a 10-to-1 run.
Wyoming East beat Logan by two points in the regular season.
