WV Class AAA All-State Girls Team Announced

Parkersburg's Taylor Phillips has been
named captain of the girls Class Triple-A all-state basketball team
released today by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

Phillips led the Patriots to the state title a year ago and they
reached the semifinals this season before losing to eventual
champion Morgantown.

Phillips averaged 15 points per game as a senior. She's heading
to Bucknell in the fall.

Others named to the first team are Huntington freshman Whitney
Bays; Woodrow Wilson's Ashley Blaney; South Charleston's Kaylyn
Crosier; University's Tarenna Dixon; Capital's Shawnice Garland;
Lewis County's Kristen Golden; and Nitro's Kendra Wallace.
