No rest for the weary...not when you're on the recruiting trail. Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie visited the Huntington home of Patrick Patterson on Monday night, continuing to pick up where Tubby Smith left off.
The 6-8 power forward is the highest ranked high school player in the country who has yet to commit to a college.
I spoke with Patterson's father Pat by phone. He told me that Coach Gillispie visited for about two hours. He described the meeting as a get to know each other meeting. He said the meeting went well...but that Patrick is sticking to his timetable to make his decision by mid-May.
Patterson's three top schools have been Florida, Kentucky, and Duke.
