Larry Grant forced and then returned a
fumble 80 yards for a clinching touchdown in the final seconds to
lead the Gray past Scarlet 17-to-9 today in Ohio State's annual
spring intrasquad scrimmage at Ohio Stadium.

The game drew 75-thousand-3-hundred-and-1 at sunny Ohio Stadium.

Grant hit Scarlet quarterback Todd Boeckman (BECK'-muhn) and
then picked up the ball and rumbled the distance. Scarlet was
moving into position for a possible winning field goal at the time.

The Gray team's honorary head coach was basketball guard Jamar
(juh-MAHR') Butler. Mike Conley Junior, who announced yesterday
that he would make himself available for the N-B-A draft, led the
Scarlet team.

The Scarlet squad led 9-to-nothing in the fourth quarter before
Aaron Pettrey kicked a field goal and Rob Schoenhoft (SHOHN'-hoff)
tossed a 6-yard scoring pass to Brandon Smith.

Marcus Freeman raced 49 yards with an interception in the
opening minutes for a quick 6-0 lead for the Scarlet. Ryan
Pretorius added a field goal.
