The Miami Dolphins have chosen Ohio State wide
receiver Ted Ginn Junior with the ninth selection in today's N-F-L
Ginn led Ohio State in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown
catches in 2006, finishing with 59 grabs for 781 yards and nine
T-Ds. He also had one touchdown as a punt returner, one on a
kickoff and one on an option pass.
Ginn last season averaged over 24 yards on kickoffs and eleven
yards on punts. He finished with one-thousand-548 all-purpose yards
while helping Troy Smith win the Heisman Trophy.
The Indianapolis Colts picked Snthony Gonzalez with the 32nd and final pick of the opening round.
Gonzalez left school a year early after finishing with 51
receptions for 734 yards and eight touchdowns. He also averaged
14-point-two yards on six punt returns as a junior.
Gonzalez appeared in 12 games for O-S-U in 2005, finishing with
28 receptions for 373 yards and three T-Ds. The six-foot, 193-pound
Gonzalez runs sharp routes and has exceptional lateral agility,
making him a dependable target. He's not afraid to make the tough
catch and has respect for the game.
Gonzalez struggles for separation and doesn't have great hands.
He also has had trouble run-blocking.
