Power Win in the 9th

The West Virginia Power struck with a little two out lightening to defeat the Lexington Legends 5-4.

The Power scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th on Michael Brantley's sacrifice fly, Chuckie Caufield's double and Andrew Lefave's single.

The Legends took a 4-3 lead in the 8th on Max Sapp's single and a three run homer by James Van Ostrand.

In the bottom of the 9th with two outs, Darren Ford hit a solo home run to tied the game at 4.

Two batters later, Chuckie Caufield hit a single to left field, knocking in Brent Brewer for the winning run.

E. J. Shanks (3-0) picked up the win in relief.

Power starter Alex Periard pitched six scoreless innings, allowing 5 hit, no walks and striking out 5 Legend batters.

The Power improve their record to 20-7 and lead the SAL Northern Division by 4 games.
