History was made last week in Marshall women's tennis. For the first time ever, a singles player was invited to the NCAA tournament.
Kellie Schmitt received the invite after being named Conference USA player of the year and got the news last Friday. She is also currently ranked 75th in the latest ITA/FILA rankings.
The NCAA Singles Championships begin May 23rd in Athens, Georgia. This spring, Schmitt had a record of 18-6 in singles competition and was also a member of the #1 doubles team for the Herd.
