Power Wins Slugfest

The West Virginia Power out slugged the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Thursday with a 14-10 victory.

The Power were lead by Taylor Green, who went 3-4 including 2 homers and drove in 5 runs.

Greensboro took a 2-0 lead in the 1st, but West Virginia answered with 11 unanswered runs.

They scored 5 in the 3rd thanks to a fielding error allowing Martin Maldonado to score the tying run and a wild pitch allowing Taylor Green to score the go ahead run.

Green hit a 2 run homer in the the 4th and a 3 run homer in the 5th, putting the Power up 11-2.

The Grasshoppers countered with 8 runs in the next four innings.

West Virginia score 3 more runs in the 9th.

Brae Wright (3-2) picked up the win, with E. J. Shanks getting his 5th save of the season.
