Setback For WVU's New Turf

The installation of new turf at West Virginia University's football stadium has suffered a setback.

An official noticed problems with end-zone pieces during a meeting Tuesday.

Associate Athletic Director Russ Sharp pointed out the pieces were a couple of shades lighter than Mountaineer Field's old blue turf.

Fritz Ballard is vice president of the North Carolina company installing the turf. He says his company is working to fix the mistake.

The project is supposed to be completed by June Tenth, five days before W.V.U. holds its first football camp of the summer. But Sharp says he has no idea how long the project will be delayed.
