Byrd's homer was his first since July fourth.
Bronson Arroyo was tagged for seven runs, six earned, over six
innings and suffered the loss to fall to 2-and-8.
Pinch-hitter Sammy Sosa grounded out leaving one homer shy of
becoming the fifth player to reach 600.
