The West Virginia Power began their quest for winning the 2nd half of the SAL Northern title by shutting out Kannapolis 9-0.
The 1st half champs started off by scoring 2 runs in the 1st inning.
Charlie Fermaint scored on a fielding error, and Brent Brewer score on Taylor Green's sacifice fly.
The Power added another run in the 2nd on Fermaint's single to center.
Andrew Lefave score on John Alonso single to give West Virginia a 4-0 lead after three innings.
The Power score 5 more runs in the 7th inning, all came with two outs.
With bases loaded, Andy Bouchie hit a two run single , Kenny Holmberg had a two run double and Fermaint hit a ground rule double to give the Power the 9-0 victory.
Jeremy Jeffress (4-0) picked up the win.
