Wood and Matt Treanor hit consecutive homers to help the Florida
Marlins beat the Cincinnati Reds eleven-to-one tonight.
Marlins pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim earned his first home win in four
starts at Dolphin Stadium. He gave up one run on five hits in seven
innings and struck out six.
The Marlins blew the game open with an eight-run eighth inning,
highlighted by Ramirez's 16th home run. The first nine Marlins
reached base and they scored eight runs before the Reds recorded an
out. The Reds used four pitchers in the inning.
Edwin Encarnacion drove in the Reds' only run with an R-B-I
single in the fifth inning.
Cincinnati's Bobby Livingston took the loss, giving up three
runs in six-plus innings.
