Power Continue to Short Circuit

The West Virginia Power struggle for scoring runs continued as they lost to the Delmarva Shorebirds 7-2.

Bradon Tripp scored the Shorebirds' 1st run in the 3rd inning with a homer.

Two batters later, David Cash doubled, scoring Pedro Florimon.

The Power came back in the bottom half of the 3rd with a run, as Charlie Fermaint scored on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Lefave.

Delmarva took a 4-1lead in the 5th on a two run homer by Michael Pierce.

The Power came up with a run in the bottom of the 5th, thanks to two Delmarva errors.

Shorebird pitcher Kyle Schmidt tried to pick off Charlie Fermaint at 1st, but threw thew the ball away allowing Fermaint to go to 2nd base.

He then stole 3rd base, but catcher Michael Pierce's throw to 3rd went into left field, allowing Fermaint to score.

The Shorebirds scored three more runs in the 7th.

Michael Pierce had a double that scored Bradon Tripp, then scored on a sacrifice fly by David Cash.

Paul Winterling scored the final run of the game on a single by Billy Rowell.

Alex Periard (5-3) suffered the loss.
