Capital Cougars Back to Winning Ways

CHARLESTON, W.Va (WSAZ) -- The Capital Cougars are back to their winning ways after an exciting 35-16 win over Riverside last Friday.

It was an interception at the end of the first half that helped give the team a boost. Capital's Kashaun Haley made some big moves to run back the interception for a score.

"During the play, the QB dropped back," Haley said. "I went up and got it. I think I took it from one of my teammates, Tyrell Davis. I took it from him and I cut back. I got tired for a moment, but I said 'no, I can't let down my team.' So, I kept going. I did my little 'Ryan Switzer' stutter-step, and I cut back and I scored. I was exhausted. I was tired."

Capital would ride that momentum all the way to a victory. So, instead of falling to 3-3, the Cougars move to 4-2.

Capital is now focused on a huge matchup against No. 1 Cabell Midland at Laidley Field this Friday. Stick to all week long for previews leading up to the big game.
