MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - After Geno Smith's record performance against Baylor, the West Virginia quarterback had a choice: Either spend some quality time with his mother who was in town to see him play, or go watch game film.
Sorry, mom.
Smith went with quarterbacks coach Jake Spavital to a study room, ready to put last Saturday's 656-yard, eight-touchdown game against Baylor behind him.
With another test Saturday night looming when the Mountaineers play at No. 11 Texas (4-0, 1-0 Big 12), Smith says he doesn't let big performances go to his head.
It will be the first time in a hostile environment this season for No. 8 West Virginia (4-0, 1-0).
