CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One of the best high school volleyball players in West Virginia is now stepping into the national spotlight.
George Washington star Hannah Shreve has been named the Gatorade West Virginia Volleyball Player of the Year. It's not just about her amazing skills on the volleyball court either. The award also recognizes high standards of academic achievement and character on and off the field.
Shreve led the GW Patriots to the AAA Class State Championship this season. She was also named Class AAA First team, all-state. She finished with 438 kills, 158 blocks, 80 digs, 73 service aces and 11 assists.
Last month, Shreve committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers and will continue her career in Morgantown.
