SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP & WSAZ) -- WVU is headed to the Pinstripe Bowl to face off against Syracuse on Dec. 29 in Yankee Stadium.
This is a first for WVU and the second time in three years for Syracuse.
The Mountaineers (7-5, 4-5 Big 12) completed their regular season with a 59-10 win over Kansas. Syracuse (7-5) won five of its last six games to capture a share of the Big East championship with a 5-2 league mark.
This is the 11th straight bowl trip for West Virginia, which started the season with five straight wins and was ranked as high as fifth before five straight losses.
It will be Syracuse's 24th bowl appearance overall. The Orange is 13-9-1 all-time and 4-2 against the Big 12 in the postseason.

WVU officially accepted an invitation to the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 2. The game will be televised on ESPN. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
