Marshall held its annual Spring Game at Edwards Stadium on Saturday.

A crowd of 9,163 attended the scrimmage between teams coached by former Marshall stars Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich.

Rakeem Cato saw limited action in the scrimmage, completing three passes for 102 yards. The two men competing for the backup quarterback job saw a majority of the snaps under center.

Gunner Holcombe passed for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns, including two touchdowns to wide receiver Justin Hunt. Freshman QB Cole Garvin passed for more than 100 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Taj Letman led the Marshall defense with 10 tackles.

Former Marshall great Randy Moss also joined in on the fun, taking a trip down memory lane catching a ceremonial pass from Chad Pennington.

Team Leftwich won the scrimmage 30-13.
