ASHLAND, K.y. (WSAZ) -- The United States swept the men's and women's skeet shooting competitions.
Skeet is much more than just an olympic curiosity as the shooting sports have a strong foothold in our region and a local shooter just brought home one of the most prestigious title in the sport.
Quinten Smith, from Minford, OH, is the NSSA Junior World Champion of skeet shooting. He won the title and two gold medals he won this week in California.
Shooting the 12, 20, 28 and .410 gauges, Smith scored a 397 out of a possible 400. The score that has boosted his confidence and trained his sights on college and potentially the olympics.
