PITTSBURGH -- August has been a month-long nightmare for the Pittsburgh Pirates. They have won only 9 of their last 24 games and the team showed obvious signs of frustration during their 7-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, Sunday.

Carlos Gomez and Aramis Ramirez homered off Erik Bedard, who gave up six hits and six earned runs.

The Pirates are now eight games out of the National League Central race and two games out of the Wild Card race.

They host St. Louis Monday night.
