HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Marshall's first scrimmage of the spring started slow for the offense until Rakeem Cato took control.
Cato led the offense to more than 250 yards while splitting time with redshirt freshman Blake Frohnapfel and the second team.
Cato connected on several short routes with senior receiver Andre Booker before hitting Aaron Dobson for a long touchdown.
Following the 111 play scrimmage Marshall's Sports Information department released a statement from Doc Holliday which dismissed Donald Brown.
"Safety Donald Brown did not meet the expectations and standards of Marshall Football, therefore he will not return to the program," Holliday said according to the statement.
Marshall's final spring scrimmage is scheduled for April 28.
