South Cardinals Fly High At Basketball Classic

South Charleston, W.Va -- The South Cardinals led by more than twenty points in the second half on their way to a 92-81 victory in the annual North-South All-Star Basketball Classic.

The North Bears were able to keep the game close in the first half of Friday night’s game. Fairmont Senior all-star Travon Horton paced his team and would finish the day with 16 points.

The South Cardinals were led by George Washington’s Luke Eddy and his 24-point game. He took home the honor of being named South MVP for his efforts.

The North and South all-star football teams were also in attendance at the South Charleston Community Center on Friday. They will compete in their portion of all-star weekend Saturday night at Laidley field.

As of Friday night, 18 of the 26 players scheduled to participate in the classic had be signed on to compete at the collegiate level.
