FRIDAY; APRIL 12, 2013:

High School Baseball

Hurricane @ George Washington; (Charleston, W.Va)
Both of these teams come into Friday’s match-up at the ballpark boasting an impressive start to the season. The GW Patriots are coming off of a 9-5 victory over Winfield on Wednesday. Hurricane is coming off of a high scoring15-13 win over Cabell Midland. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 at GWHS.

Professional Wrestling

TNA Wrestling at Appalachian Power Park tickets on sale; (Charleston, W.Va)
The superstars of TNA Impact Wrestling just announced that they will be invading Appy Power Park on June 14, as a part of their “BASEBRAWL TOUR”. Current World Champion Bully Ray headlines the card that also includes Bobby Roode, James Storm, and Austin Aries. Tickets prices start at $15 and go for as high as $65. With the higher priced ticket you also are given a “Meet and Greet”.

College Softball

18 Kentucky vs Florida; (Lexington, Ky.)
The Wildcats softball team has been doing very well for themselves this season to the tune of 30-10. They are currently ranked the number 18 team in the country and will face off with an SEC rival Florida Gators at 6:00 Friday night.

SATURDAY; APRIL 13, 2013:

College Football

Spring Football Games; (Various locations)
This Saturday is a big day for college football. While we are still months away from the start of the official 2013 season, fans get their first look at three college teams this weekend. Ohio, Ohio State, and Kentucky will all play their annual inter-squad game giving fans a look at what is to come in the 2013 race to the BCS National Title. More information on each team’s kickoff time and venue is available on their websites.

Meet WVU Players; (Cross Lanes, W.Va)
Several WVU football players will be available to sign autographs and take pictures in Cross Lanes. Linemen Jeff Braun, Joey Madsen, and Josh Jenkins as well as linebacker Terence Garvin are scheduled to appear. All of these players have been mentioned as possible selections in the 2013 NFL Draft. The event takes place from 2-4p.m. at the Collectibles Etc. store location in Cross Lanes. Tickets are must be purchased to take part in the event.

College Baseball/ Softball

Marshall University vs East Carolina; (Huntington, W.Va)
The ‘Herd softball team has been on a roll this season. They have already set program records for streaks in conference wins, overall wins, and home wins. They will match-up with East Carolina in a double header at Dot Hicks Softball field at 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.

SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 2013:

College Baseball/ Softball

18 Kentucky vs Florida; (Lexington, Ky.)
The Wildcats close out game three of their weekend series against Florida on Sunday. This will be their last home game before a 5-game road trip. They look to defend their spot as the number 18 team in the country during this mid-day SEC match-up. First pitch is set for a 12:00 pm.

Marshall University vs East Carolina; (Huntington, W.Va)
Less than 24-hours removed from the football team’s Green and White Spring Game, all eyes will switch the the ‘Herd softball team. Game three of their weekend series with East Carolina comes with an early start time. First pitch at Dot Hicks Softball field set to take place at 12:00 PM.

University of Charleston vs Bluefield State College; (Charleston, W.Va)
A great opportunity to spend some time at Appy Power Park. Current forecast calls for 66 degrees and sunny. Should be perfect baseball weather. The Eagles are 13-19 on the season and will look to push closer to the 500 mark. Sunday’s game offers their opportunity to do just that.
