UC Golden Eagles Look to Get Back on Track Against Fairmont St.

Posted: Thu 6:08 PM, Sep 27, 2012

Charleston, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- After losing its first game of the season, the University of Charleston looks to get back on track this weekend against Fairmont State (1-3).

The Golden Eagles are 3-1 after a loss to Shepherd Univeristy last week. UC led the game 10-0 until giving up a touchdown on an interception just before the end of the first half. Shepherd went on to score 17 unanswered points to win the game.

UC Head coach Pat Kirkland now has the tough task of getting his team to forget the game while still learning from the loss.

"I think after watching the film on monday you try to put it to bed as quickly as possible," Coach Kirkland said, "but you want to make sure you learn from what cost you. We just didn't take advantage of some opportunities, especially early on in the game on both sides of the ball. We addressed those issues, worked on them in practice, and hopefully we got them taken care of."

UC and Fairmont State will kick off Saturday at Noon. The game will be at UC Stadium in Charleston.
