TEMPE, AZ (WSAZ) -- The Kentucky Wildcat comeback fell just short Saturday evening as they fell in game one of the NCAA Super Regionals 5-4.
Kelsey Nunley pitched all six innings for the Wildcats giving up five runs on five hits.
Arizona State led 5 -1 going into the sixth inning. Kentucky came back with three runs of their own to bring the game to within one. However, they would not be able to execute in the seventh and fall in game one of the Super Regionals.
The NCAA Super Regionals are a best two out of three elimination type round. The winners advance to the Elite Eight and the Women's College World Series.
Game two between the Wildcats and Sundevils will take place Sunday at 5:00 pm, with an 8:00 pm game three if necessary.
