MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - The Big 12 Conference has reprimanded a West Virginia assistant women's basketball coach for his conduct after a tournament game in Hawaii.

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby says assistant coach Lester Rowe violated conference rules prohibiting coaches from committing "abusive acts" toward an opposing team's fans.

Bowlsby says Rowe has been put on notice that future incidents may result in a more serious penalty.

The incident occurred during a trophy presentation ceremony Sunday in Honolulu after the Mountaineers beat Hawaii.

WVU athletic director Oliver Luck issued a statement Thursday saying the school respects Bowlsby's decision and that any disciplinary measures against Rowe will be handled internally.
