Huntington Prep's Andrew Wiggins was honored with the Naismith Award Trophy for 2013 high school player of the year.
The 6-8 senior at Huntington Prep has averaged 23.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.4 steals and 2.1 blocks per game this season.
Wiggins was chosen from a field that included finalists Aaron Gordon and Jabari Parker. Wiggins remains undecided as to where he plans to attend college, with North Carolina, Kentucky, Florida State and Kansas in line for his services.
"It's an unbelievable honor for Andrew to be selected the 2013 Naismith Player of the Year," Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford said."He exemplifies the qualities that a national player of the year should have on, and off the court. It has been an honor to watch Andrew grow as a player and person over the last two years."
