CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Alex Ash scored 22 points and Parkersburg used a fourth-quarter surge to beat South Charleston 62-48 in the boys Class AAA quarterfinals Thursday night.
Sixth-seeded Parkersburg (20-6) will play seventh-seeded Hedgesville in Friday's semifinals.
The teams were tied 40-40 after three quarters. Parkersburg outscored South Charleston 22-8 in the final period.
Devin Hoehn added 16 points and Clayton Stanley had 10 points and 18 rebounds for the Big Reds.
Parkersburg avenged a regular-season loss at South Charleston.
Jon Elmore had 15 points and Rashaud Kincade added 10 for third-seeded South Charleston (21-5). Leading scorer Ot Elmore was limited to three points - 14 below his average - on 1-of-12 shooting.
