Marshall football coach Mark Snyder said reshirt freshman QB Chris Smith is leaving the Marshall football program to tend to some health issues.
Snyder said Smith's family released the announcement that he's suffering from anxiety disorder and that it's best for everyone involved if he concentrates on getting better.
Smith was a standout at South Point and rated the 2nd best quarterback in Ohio when he signed with Marshall. He was in a five man battle for the open quarterback position at Marshall.
It's most important right now for Chris to get healthy," Snyder said.
