Highlanders, Black Knights, Hillbillies win titles

VIENNA, W.Va. (AP) - The 2008 state high school softball champions have been crowned.

Huntington captured its second straight Class Triple-A title by beating South Charleston 6-4 today in the championship game played in Vienna.

Point Pleasant held off Scott 4-2 for the Double-A crown.

And in Single-A, Wheeling Central was denied its third straight title. Man beat the Maroon Knights 5-2 in the championship game.

Way to go Lady Knights!! We're so proud of you!! And since none of the news channels mentioned it, congratulations to Curt Grimm from PPHS boys baseball team for hitting a GRAND SLAM during Tuesday's game against Magnolia.
