CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The songwriter had never attended a major league game, but "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" has been inseparable from baseball for most of its 100 years.

Now, fans at West Virginia Power Park will mark the song's anniversary with the unveiling Wednesday of a 42-cent postage stamp honoring the famed tune.

Before the Class A West Virginia Power take the field against the Columbus Catfish, Charleston Postmaster Jon Litton will reveal the stamp, based on a vintage 1880 "trade card."

Joining Litton at the unveiling will be a group of local baseball notables, including former professional player Roy Brown and longtime Charleston Gazette sports writer Mike Whiteford.

Wow. I didn't know that. What a nice little bit of trivia. I can use that in my music class this fall!
