Despite a grass roots campaign in and around Ashland Kentucky, Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Webb did not make the National League All Star team.
One of five pitchers up for the final spot on the squad, Webb was beaten out by Padres Pitcher Chris Young.
Young probably helped himself by throwing 7 scoreless innings on Wednesday night. helping himself with seven scoreless innings on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-10 right-hander broke Nomar Garciaparra's 2006 Final Vote record with more than 4.5 million votes and finished ahead of Carlos Zambrano of the Cubs, Roy Oswalt of the Astros, Brandon Webb of the Diamondbacks and Tom Gorzelanny of the Pirates.
