I've lived and worked in my fair share of cities and no place compares to the friendliness and hospitality of West Virginia, southern Ohio and eastern Kentucky! I love the people in this part of the country and it is a pleasure to live here--not to mention, it's beautiful! When you grow up in the flatlands of the Midwest, the mountains are a real treat!

I was born in Texas, grew up in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, MO. I interned at KTVI-TV in St. Louis and reported/anchored at KOMU-TV in Columbia and KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Missouri--all great experiences!

Since starting at WSAZ in 1999, I've moved from General Assignment Reporter to Weekend Anchor/Reporter to what I consider the best job here! Anchoring First at Five is the cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of an ice cream sundae on a hot summer day! I love my job and enjoy coming to work everyday serving the viewers of this vast region. I not only anchor the 5pm news everyday, but report for our daily newscasts in addition to putting together a weekly Cover Story for our 5:30 Edition.

From crime, education and investigations to farming, features and family, I cover it all! Delivering compelling, relevant news that affects our communities and helps us protect our families is what makes my job so important. It's a mission I'm committed to daily.

I'm proudest of an Ohio Public Images Award I received for a story I did in Athens County, OH about the Passion Flower. It's a great project that exists because of the labor of love by people with developmental disabilities. They create this beautiful piece of art and every single one is unique and special just like the artists who make them.

Outside of work, I'm a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State where I'm a big sister. My "little sister" and I have been a match for more than two years and it's been so much fun to watch her grow up and change. She's become a part of my family and her family has adopted me as a part of theirs.

When I'm not working, making public appearances and not participating in community or church activities, my husband, Jasper, and I are busy parents. Our daughter, Gabriella, is one of our greatest delights and brings us joy every single day!
