Laurabree Austin became part of the WSAZ news team in August of 2005. She is thrilled to cover Charleston and the surrounding areas for the station.
Prior to joining WSAZ, Laurabree was a reporter and anchor for KAMR/KCIT in Amarillo, Texas. Before that, she was a general assignment reporter for KAMC/KLBK in Lubbock. Laurabree began her career working in radio for WLTW in NYC.
Meeting new people every day and telling their stories is the reason Laurabree decided to go into broadcasting. She says, “The human spirit never ceases to amaze me. People are so generous to invite us into their homes”.
Laurabree is originally from New Jersey and graduated from Indiana University with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. She and her husband Keith are excited to call West Virginia home.
