A little about me: I grew up in suburban Detroit, the oldest son of Bill & Shirley Yohe. My father was one of the best car salesmen in the country. I have a younger brother, Scott, who manages a blast furnace shop where they make car parts, and a younger sister, Sharon, who styles hair in a Northern Michigan resort town. I was a state champion debater in high school, did my undergrad work at Michigan State University and got my Masters in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Missouri.

I lived in a commune for a while and played in a rock band. I lived in a beach bungalow In LA for two years, working as a disco DJ at a beach club. I also worked for 4 years as an attendant at the State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. WOW! Some life experiences, Huh? After a few years in Huntington, I met and married Vickie, the most wonderful woman in the world. I'm a fortunate guy.

I’m proud to be into my fifth year of maintaining a 90 pound weight loss. I did it the old fashioned way, diet and exercise.

I owe it all to my wife, to weight watchers and to a commitment to the YMCA workout rooms.

I’ve even participated in two triathlons the past two years.

It’s changed my life. My dad died when he was 49. When I turned 49, I decided to get healthy and stay healthy.

I love college basketball. I like to canoe, bicycle, hike and camp in the woods and by the seashore. I LOVE to travel and especially explore tropical Islands. I’m learning the fine art of appreciating craft beers. I enjoy all kinds of music. My favorite musician is Frank Zappa. But I enjoy listening to unique artists: from The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The late Robert Palmer and Randy Newman to DEVO, Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and BR5 49...and don't forget the P-Funk.

As a field reporter, I'm lucky enough to cover it all...I meet someone new every day and find new excitement and challenges with every story. I've won awards for feature stories that touch the heart and the funny bone, and some of my awards winning investigations have forced unscrupulous companies to make changes for the community good. For me, variety truly IS the spice of life
