Scott Saxton became news director at WSAZ in October 2006.
His career with WSAZ began in 1996 as an intern. After a short stint at WXVT TV15 in Greenville, Mississippi as a morning anchor/reporter, Scott came back to WSAZ in the summer of 1998. He worked his way up from reporter to assignment manager to assistant news director and now news director.
Scott graduated from Ohio University in 1997 with a degree in broadcast journalism. He has won numerous awards from the Associated Press, including best investigative reporting. In 2004, the West Virginia Broadcasters Association honored him with the Reporter of the Year award. In 2004-05, he served as the president of the Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
Scott is married with two children (Serena and Charlotte).
