Chris Olsen joined WSAZ in August of 2007 as an anchor and reporter. Chris complements Melanie and Rob in the morning, then splits off hosting “Your Day on MyZ."
Chris is well traveled. He started his TV career in Topeka, Kansas, where he was a weekend sports anchor. From there, he moved to Amarillo, Texas, to anchor the weekend news.
Before all the news fun, Chris attended Kansas State University; he thanks Marshall and its fans and for the fun rivalry a few years ago. At K-State he majored in Electronic Journalism, with secondary degrees in Animal Science and Industry, and Leadership Studies.
He also helped create a nationally recognized sports show called Purple Power Hour; he hosted that show until graduation.
When not involved in gathering news Chris spends his free time with his English Pointer pup Dixie, renovating his house, or doing anything that keeps him busy (i.e. watching his Wildcats, Royals or Chiefs play ball).
Someday Chris hopes to host his own animal, travel, or entertainment show on a national level.
