Todd Borek works the First at Five, 5:30, and My Z ten o'clock shows from Charleston each weekday.
Todd has earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal from the American Meteorologist Society (AMS) in the autumn of 2007. The CBM seal is the highest broadcast meteorologist standard issued by the AMS. Todd is one of only two meteorologists in the Charleston/Huntington Television market to have the CBM. He first earned the AMS Television Seal of Approval in 2006.
He has worked at television stations in Flint, Michigan and Rhinelander, Wisconsin before getting his position at WSAZ. Prior to becoming a meteorologist, Todd spent 5 years in Southern California where he worked at the Walt Disney Studio Lot in Burbank as well as a 6th grade Math/Science teacher in Long Beach. He also performed as a stand-up comic in and around the Los Angeles area for several years. He has been on stage at famous Los Angeles comedy clubs such as the Improv in Hollywood and Pasadena’s Icehouse.
He is a graduate of Michigan State University and earned a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Todd enjoys watching films and sports (especially his beloved Detroit teams), exercising, writing, and spending time with his friends and family back home in the Detroit area.
