Bark for Life
Lawrence County, Ohio Fairgrounds
The American Cancer Society Bark For Life of Lawrence County is an event that honors the caregiving of qualities of our canine best friends and raises money for the research, programs, and services that benefit both human cancer survivors and our pet caregivers.
Canine companions represent unconditional love, joy, security, compassion, and make no judgments of human abilities or appearance.
The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is a way for us to “take a bite out of cancer”, smile, and make new friends-canine and human.

1st Annual West Carter Crusade
Olive Hill, KY
The West Carter Crusade 5k Run & Walk presented by WCMS 7th grade Beta was developed to support students in our community in need. This year we are crusading for Caleb Barker, a 7th grade student at WCMS with proceeds going to aid him in his battle against Batten disease. Batten disease is a disorder of the nervous system, which causes progressive loss of sight and motor skills among other symptoms. This disease is aggressive and rare occurring in an estimated 2 to 4 of every 100,000 children.
Our 5k is a fun, healthy and kid friendly event catering to runners, health walkers and families who seek to raise their heart rates and have the heart to support a noble cause.
The race starts and ends at West Carter Middle School in Olive Hill on May 17, 2014.
