Start spreading the news, iTunes is now singing a winning tune.

America's second-biggest music retailer is now number one, according to Apple.

The company cites information from market researcher "The NDP Group", showing that it's surpassed Wal-Mart.

According to Apple, the figures show that iTunes was the largest music seller in January and February.

However, Apple's competitors say those numbers from the first few months of the year are a bit skewed because of people cashing in gift cards from the holidays.
