HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Another choice for mobile broadband in our region, and checking gas prices on the go.

Adobe has officially stepped into the world of web videos by launching its adobe media player.

The application has been in public beta since last year, but the official version is now out. Adobe’s media player is a desktop application that allows users to watch streaming and downloaded web videos.

Those videos come from adobe's different content providers including MTV, blip.tv, CBS and many others.

One other note about adobe's media player-- you can add any online video to your player with r-s-s feeds.

You probably know them as a cell phone retailer, but now Ntelos has announced the launch of its nationwide mobile broadband service.
The service is a high-speed wireless data connection. Ntelos claims it's the newest, most advanced mobile broadband technology available.

The service will give Ntelos' customers wireless access from their laptops, p-d-a smart phones or cell phones. Ntelos says the speed of the service is comparable to wired broadband connections like cable modems or DSL.

Ntelos says with mobile broadband-- residents of Huntington and Ashland will enjoy the faster speeds. They say many other communities will also be connected to the faster service. These areas include Barboursville, Milton, Ceredo, South Point, Catlettsburg, Westwood, Ironton and Wurtland.

WSAZ spoke with some other cell phone carriers about high speed mobile internet. AT&T says their 3-G technology is not yet available in our area.

And Sprint says their mobile broadband is up and running here, and they say it's slightly faster than DSL.

Now you can find the lowest gas prices in your area simply by using WSAZ on the go! All you need is a web-enabled phone, meaning a phone that allows you to surf the web.

The address is easy to remember it's wsazwireless.com.
You can scroll down to menu item 10 --that's "gas prices". Then you can search by city and state or by zip code.

The list of results shows you the gas station name and the price of regular unleaded gas. You can also click on the station name and you will get the address of the station and all the gas prices at that station.
We should also point out-- for some reason BP stations are listed as CITGO.

I see you like TV streaming sites. Well just to let you know that there is a better site than this called www.viewmy.tv it streams live global TV to your computer but is free and has no downloads so it is faster and the quality is really good. I also have a profile on the site which enables me to save my channels so I don’t keep on having to search them, find other people who like the same stuff as me from all over the world and join groups, talk to friends etc. Check it out! They even have created loads of gadgets, widgets and apps so you don’t even have to go to site to watch their streams- its is great!
