HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Microsoft’s latest operating system takes quite a hit and an accused thief took a page out of a popular video game.
It debuted with such lofty goals, but now Microsoft's Vista OS is seeing low consumer acceptance to put it nicely.
Microsoft has reported sales of all of its operating systems declined 24 percent in the first quarter of this year. Businesses and consumers are reluctant to switch to Vista because its memory requirements can really slow older computers down.
There's still a movement going on demanding that Microsoft keep around Windows XP, which runs better on many computers, but it appears those cries will fall on deaf ears as Microsoft has said it will stop selling XP by June 30th.
Grand Theft Auto Four is flying off store shelves, but apparently one fan just couldn't wait until he saved up enough cash. The suspected thief is now in custody after a violent robbery at a local video game store. Police say the suspect barged into the Game Stop in San Diego and sprayed the staff with pepper spray.
The suspect then managed to get away with several video games including the brand-new Grand Theft Auto Four. Police say he jumped into a white truck, but unlike the video game this suspect was caught by police.
Finally the link of the day came to us from Jane Ellis in Gallipolis, Ohio. Check out sundaysaver.com. The site works much like the sales ads circular in the Sunday paper allowing users to see what stores have on sales. Jane says it saves her time, money and gas. Now you may ask-- how's it save her gas? By comparing sales prices online Jane says she no longer has to drive all over town looking for the best deal.
Another nifty part of the site is you can customize the stores by state.
