HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Internet's most popular auction site may say goodbye to credit cards payments, and a web site that could replace your cable box.
Internet auctioneer eBay is exploring whether to make customers use only the on-line payment service pay pal.
A pay pal-only rule takes effect next month in Australia: a designated test market and that government is now looking at whether it violates anti-trust laws.
EBay hasn't said whether it will institute the policy in the U.S. and other countries, but claims it wants to reduce disputes and restore trust in its marketplace with a pay pal-only plan.
Critics contend pay pal sometimes costs more and the company is simply wanting to fatten the bottom line.
