It appears TiVo is going down the unconventional route in the never-ending battle for DVR supremacy. Not only will your TiVo pause and record your shows -- it will also order you a pizza.

While you were sleeping last night, TiVo updated its series 2, 3 and HD boxes with the new dominoes widget, which is free service. The widget works much like Domino's Web site. You can order pizza, sides, drinks and more. To use the service, you have to be connected to broadband Internet and you should check to see if the Domino's in your area has online ordering.

Computer makers are scrambling to adjust to rapidly deteriorating demand for personal computers. Many are cutting prices as they brace for what is quickly shaping up to be a cheerless holiday season. Dell and some retailers are even offering discounts of 20 to 30 percent on new notebook computers, chipping away at profits in a segment that has enjoyed healthy demand.
