An Apple customer displays the iPad, left, next to his iPhone on April 7 in Palo Alto, Calif. In time for the widely expected launch of a new iPhone model, carrier AT&T Inc. is pulling in the reins on data usage by its customers with smart phones and iPads. |
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (NBC) -- Two months ago, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was downright giddy about his new iPhone 4 set for release Thursday, June 24.
But while waiting for the phone, customers can get their hands on the new software starting Monday, June 21.
Called iOS4 because it works on iPods and iPads as well as iPhones, here are a few highlights of what's included:
The high-definition video can be edited in the iMovie app, and easily shared on the web. It's important to remember, your phone needs to have a video camera for this to work.
There's also a video conferencing feature, but it only works with iPhone 4. The new feature takes full advantage of the new front-facing camera.
Watching all of this closely is Apple's chief competitor, Google's Android. Users with Android phones are also gearing up for the latest and greatest from Google with the new Android 3.0, which is out soon.
