Posted by: Mara (sounds like Marra) I forgot! Tony and all the weather team - you are wonderful. Have a wonderful holiday and blessed new year! Tony-may a KISS of snow come your way.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Mara (sounds like Marra) Thank you for all the wonderful services you give the community for keeping us informed. I really like the personality of the whole team at WSAZ. Carrie and Bill, Bob and John Marra, Penny (like your hairdo), Tim and Keith - you guys are just simply a fun group to hear what's happening in our tri-state community. To everyone, and to those who I have not had room to mention, and especally the ones who work behind the cameras, have a wonderful holiday season and of course a blessed new year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Anonymous I can't believe we're wasting air time on Rich Rod. Who cares?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Ken I would like to send out a yell to Mica Wiliamson Of Ashland ,Ky. She submitted the names of 31 children to the shop with a cop program . These children would not have had such a wonderful christmas if it wasn't for Mica and the F.O.P. . Thanks to all who make this program possible .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ET "if it isn't your business then stay out!" quoth the woman on an online public forum. doesn't that make it everyone's business? otherwise, send personal e-mails if you want to correspond privately.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: WOW Dear Sweet Janessa, I am writing this very sweet and simple message especially for you. If one would base one's own intellect based on one's own writing ability, then one (namely you) would find that one's grass is turning brown. College completion is in no way a sign of actual intelligence. Some of the dumbest people I know have a degree. If you like working in the dining industry, why get a college degree. You didn't need it if you are making such great money. Get a life. ET it is no wonder you had so much fun!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Janessa I would seriously hope that in that comment that you left you were in no way insulting my intelligence. just for your information, i did just graduate college last week so whatever you were hinting about with your..."for you I will explain comment" was just lame. also, i didnt say that i only made $20 dollars a day if you will refer to all my messages.i was commenting on some of the people that i do wait on, not all of them.i was also taking up for someone because i understood where she was coming from.FYI i make great money, hints why i have worked there for 5 years. so i will enjoy my internet on my salary.thanks for being concerned but im doing just fine!really come into where i work and you can have dinner on me....ill take it out of my "$20" a day and give you some company while you dine!!it would be a pleasant experience for the both of us im sure!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: mad as heck Are you kidding me? I am looking at my local listings trying to find something to watch. I run upon the Ashland Christmas Parade on MyZ T.V. We missed the parade that day because I had to go to work, I thought how SWEET that it is on television. I call my kids in (ages 10, 6, 4) to watch. We flip over the channel and of course commercials are on, so we wait. While we are waiting a commercial for "larger" growth in "that special area" comes on. How dare you people put such a commercial in with a family program and follow it with a commercial about santa clause are you kidding me? And come to find out it wasn't the parade at all!!! SERIOUSLY thanks for a waste of my time!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Wow Where to start?I post on this site to voice an adult perspective on various issues which may or may not reflect on my life.If you were intelligent enough to become upset, you obviously did not understand the meaning behing the original post.So for you, I will explain.ET is playing devil's advocate which means he is doing his best to get people fired up while he relaxes in his chair and enjoys the laugh.Second,I never said waitresses don't deserve tips.Third,I don't have time to be bored, but do manage to check up on this site at least twice a day.Fourth, before telling me to keep my mouth shut about adult conversations and minding my business, you may consider the fact that you are the "intelligent, non-self induldged" person who posted beautiful comments about other people's opinions. Fifth, WSAZ receives numerous hits on this site from people interested in seeing how the opinions of others are shared. Now since I have a 5yr old perspective,I hope you enjoy the internet on your $20 a day!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Vicki I started the Commetents about giving. The waitress the bellringers ect.. I have a friend that's a waitress and always seems to struggle. Christmas is about giving, and it doesn't matter who you give to our why. I just believe that the good you do comes back to you in life. Sorta like that movie. I hope everyone is blessed in holiday season. I just wanted it bought to people's attention that some hard workers are shorted in life. I just wished these girls and guys where paid more. That way if someone don't tip well, or maybe can't that they wouldn't suffer too. I just wanted people to be aware.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Janessa Hey wow....obviously,just as the rest of the people here, including myself, you have has some spare time this week.if you cant contribute more to a discussion than that then keep your opinions to yourself.next time you get bored try a game website.as for us on here,we are talking about things that bother us, sorry it doesnt concern you.if you were a server and trying to make ends meet then you would probably add a comment.obviously what we have talked about did interest you because you took time to read all the comments and put the whole story together. sooo your life must be lacking excitement. get a hobby, learn to participate in an adult discussion,and/or keep your mouth shut and respect the voices of others. you must be a very self induldged person.such a shame because you would probably become a more thoughtful and caring person,as well as learn some things,if you just listened to others around you. bottom line, if it isnt your business then stay out!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: me your reading and commenting too there WoW

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Wow I am truly impressed at how far this argument over children, overpopulation, minimum wage, waitress tips, etc has gone. ET has performed very well at being devil's advocate. Kudos to you all for showing how much crud gets posted on this website. Great job WSAZ. The more you continue to post this junk from the readers, the higher your ratings will be. What a wonderful catalyst this webpage has become!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ann ET I knew you had bitterness for some reason. Now that you realize that you are bitter try to be a little kinder and I bet you will find yourself in a whole new world. I hope you find happiness and love in your life. Just beleave and it shall be yours.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: I IS CLEVER Hi. I am an clever. I cannot form complete sentences. I have nothing to say and no point to my post. just wanted to be heard and receeve some easy laughs from some simple folks. Thanks. Lets see how many kudos I can get! The guy posing as ET

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: meme To ET since you seem to think the world is over populated why don't you just move deep into the woods and become a hermit. Doesn't look like you have any social skills anyway. Having a baby is a miracle from GOD, so he must not think the world is overpopulated.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ET Hey guys just to set the record straight, I'm lonely.........and...pretty pathetic too. I'm sorry. If only I were as good at dating and forming relationships as I am being an arrogant and making people mad, life would be good. Merry Christmas guys! Love ET

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Karen ET you are not worth the argument. As for my kids I will not argue about them on here. I DO NOT have to justify anything to you. As for me and my family, we are gonna have a great Christmas. Thanks to all, and have a Great Christmas yourselves.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ET TO LISA: I'm honored to have inspired your first post. It's that "God-given right" idea that has polluted our world with obscene quantities of people that there are not enough resources/jobs for. "God" didn't give us the natural ability to reproduce so that we could overpopulate the world. Before advanced medicine, the birth-death rate kept a natural balance, but now, with a low infant mortality rate and aging people continuing to age further, we are facing a dangerous population issue. People dive into parenthood without considering consequences, population being one of them, finances being another. Most children don't receive the nurturing or attention they require/deserve, and forgive me for stereotyping, but a waitress with 3 kids sounds like she qualifies for that lack of consideration and follow-through.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Think You go to have your car fixed. OK. It took 10 days. You get your car back they got it dirty inside maybe even grease. They charge you for labor. What $40 a hour. Really how long did it Take? I wish a server could charge labor, because sometimes I have seen them worked to death. Something needs to be done to help these people out. SOme people are to stingy to help, so why can't the work places come up with something.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ann To ET sounds like for some reason you are a bitter person. I hope someday you find some peace and happiness.. The world is not a perfect place, but if we help each other out a little it could be a better place. So what if that means informing people that servers on make $2.15 an hour. If she was trying for a scam or free money she would have found a tissue of Mother Mary in her apron.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ET To all those defensive Ladies: At no point did I say I didn't leave a tip, or that I only leave $1.00. As a matter of fact, despite what most of you have assumed, I have waited tables in the past. I have several years of serving experience under my belt, as well as bartending. I always leave exceptional tips, as long as the service is even decent. However, my "yell" had nothing to do with the food-service industry. I have grown impatient with people contributing to the overpopulation problem, and then asking for handouts to support their decision. I don't even disagree that people should be informed that wait staff members do not even make minimum wage. I do feel remarking about needing better tips and throwing your three kids in there sounds to me like asking for handouts, I don't care how you justify it or how you re-explain yourself, you were using your kids to ask for sympathy from the public. Love, ET

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Jen I am not a cheap person by any means, as a matter of fact I often tip at least 25%. But let's make this clear. If you want a good tip, you need to do a good job and earn it. I can't tell you how many times we've been stuck with a horrible server who didn't deserve a tip (and I always leave one anyways.)I'm just saying that a tip is a thank you for good service, if you don't provide good service, you certainly shouldn't expect a good tip.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Ronnie I would just like to add my comment on the tipping properly discussion. To E.t.,Most servers work just as hard for their money(probably harder)as you do.So, before you go bashing them for poor choices in an open forum like this, maybe you should spend at least half a seconds thought on the circumstances that brought them here.It may not be the choices but a hardship that has brought them to have to humble themselves to people like you on a daily basis. If you do not like to tip properly, stay at home and eat or go to Mc Donalds. To anyone else who goes into a resuraunt mad at the world and bent on having a negitive experience looking for a comped check ,maybe you should just turn around and go home. People like you are the reason that your server may seem less than thrilled to be there. If you cant leave at least 15 percent of your check cost as a tip, go to a fast food resturaunt where they care about you as much as you care about the server you run to into the ground for a dollar

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: missy as a human being, if you notice someone having a bad day, you should see if there is anything you could do to make it better. i will give you an example: i was waiting on this couple, they seemed to be in a hurry and the woman seemed a little irritated. i started talking to them as they waited on their food.... come to find out, there granddaughter was in the hospital-she was 4 and was having brain surgery and due to be out in three hours-they were having lunch. that day i was so irritated with my "life" my kids and husband-the normal stuff. i went to the kitchen to rush their food; as i came out with it the woman told me that it had made her feel so much better because a stranger had taken the time to care-to listen. you never know how you are going to change someones life. i will never forget that woman. she taught me not to take things for granted. she was having a horrible day.. and left me 50$ as a christmas present. applebees~2002

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Melissa Here is my take on this. First these men and women should not have to rely on tips as a paycheck, that is the main problem right there. My husband and I tip well BUT only when the service is worth my hard earned money. I recently went to an Applebees and waited entirely to long on a menu and just as long on a server, mind you this was not even a weekend night and the place was not overly crowded, needless to say this person went home without my cash. Most places we have been have always been right there and have went over the call of their job to make sure my visit was pleasant. Those people will never be upset with my tip. It is a hard job I know but the waitress should be nice and so should the people there to eat. Tip well to those who serve you well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: monica I can't believe it!! Me and the girls were sitting in the office talking about the emails on THE YELL. I couldn't believe that a few of them just thought waitress made minium wage too. I wish there was a way of spreading the info to help the waitress out some.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: AC To ET. Maybe you shouldn't eat out if you can't afford to give the waitstaff an appropriate tip. I have many family member that have made careers out the the restuarant industry. Tip you server well everyday of the year, not just at the holiday!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Lisa To ET...I have never responded to these things until today...If everyone "waited" until they could "afford" children to have them, then nobody would be having children at all. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouths or have mommy and daddy leaving them butt loads of money. You do what you have to do to take care of your children because you love them and God has given you that privilege. Do not judge these girls for making $20 and complaining about it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Brian I was just wondering, can Chris Olsen deliver the news without constently moving his hands in camera view? At first, I thought he might be using sign language, but "NO". It appears he can't talk without waving those hands. I guess I'll have to get the morning local news somewhere else.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Vicki To ET way to go you have such wonderfull Christmas Spirit. Bet you make sure you leave a $1.00 TIP EVERYTIME. Bet you find a lump of coal in your stocking!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Karen I think I forgot to put my name down on my last post....If i did, im sure you knew who it was from. It still angers me for someone that doesnt know anything at all about me to say that im not responsible for my kids. I was very angry until I seen the other comments. Amy, Ann, and Janessa, you know what its like to serve ppl everyday. Its hard work. As for my kids, Im a stay at home mom until my husband gets home from work. Then I go to work. I dont have to pay anyone to watch my kids Thank God. We know who ET is...its the person that comes into your place of business mad. Takes it out on everyone around them. We see that person everyday that we work. When my youngest child gets into school, I will go back to working full time at my other profession. The one I went to college for. Now see you should never judge ppl by what little is said on this page. We dont divulge all there is to know about ourselves. Janessa I will see you in a week or so at Johnnys. Merry Christmas!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Anonymous ET i take care of my kids just fine. I dont need some person to tell me that my kids are not taken care of. If you would read it, you would see it says sometimes $20 a day. Im not the only one in my house that works either. I dont get food stamps either. So until you know everything, dont say im not responsible for my kids!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Amanda I just want to say that I attended Mountain Stage last night at the Cultural Center and is was wonderful. Everyone should go. There was a band from Clarksburg there The Davisson Brothers and they were wonderful! I wouldn't be surprised if they make it big and they deserve it, they are wonderful and should make West Virginians proud!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Janessa I would also like to say thanks to those people, such as Amy, who really appreciate what we do. i have developed many friendships over the years i have worked at Johnny's.I would just like to thank those friendly people who come in, those are the people that make me love my job!The nicer you are the more pleasant your experience is at a restaurant! When i finally quit and am able to get job i will really miss some of the people that i see on a weekly basis! Merry Christmas to everyone, especially those which take the time to respect all the people in their lives, even down to their servers!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Janessa Well first of all i would like to say to E.T. that at least shes working which is making an effort to provide for her family.you dont even know this girls background.you could be paying for her to take care of her children, but she decided to be responsible and get a job. give the girl some credit. obviously youve never waited tables before. i worked at a waitress all through my five yrs of college and i get sick of ppl being cheap also.if you cant afford to leave a tip then get the food to go. i dont have children or a family, but i do have bills to pay and being a waitress worked out best with my school schedule.also, if you a christian and go to church on sunday and then out to eat, leave more than a dollar.ppl like that just make christians look cheap. thankfully im saved, but if i werent, waiting on those $1 sun. church tippers wouldnt make me intersted in knowing the Lord.If anyone would like to share their comments on this subject come see me a Johnny's Pizza.Merry Christmas!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Drugs The sad thing is I know of several people who have been busted with drugs, arrested and a few days later back out doing it again. What's happening why are these people back on the street. Why tell on your neighbors for the drugs when their back home a week later and now I'm afraid to leave my house. What's up??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: ann To E.T. maybe women end up being single mom's not from choice and have to provide for their children. A waitress is a lot better than being on welfare and asking you to pay for their children . Their not out selling drugs either. What if something happens tomorrow and you lose your wonderful High paying job. Oh that's right you have no kids to look after. Sometimes life makes your choices for you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: AMY Yes I agree!! Have you ever been waited on and your waitress doesn't look happy, but she's trying her best to look different. It could be because she given her best and everyone is leaving a dollor. I'm not a waitress, but I was one along time ago. I know you guys deserve a better tip for waiting on me and cleaning up my mess. I always keep that in mind when I tip. I wish everyone else would too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Robert Drug trafficking is mobile and therefore very difficult to pinpoint. Huntington being a border town makes it even more difficult tracking drug traffickers. It takes a lot of cooperation of smaller understaffed, underfunded police in smaller towns across the river and around Hgtn. Strategically, Huntington is a hard place to enforce. It will take a Tri-State task force to end this influx of drugs and crime.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: e.t. at what point does one realize that on $20 per day, you should not produce children? take responsibility for your poor choices instead of trying to drag the public into sharing your guilt for not being able to provide for your family. stop having children until you can afford to take care of them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Anonymous To be honest, Im afraid of the drug dealers. We have seen what they do to ppl. They KILL them. Thats why more ppl dont stand up and tell the cops what they saw. I for one would be scared to tell the cops...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Karen Im a waitress at a very busy resturant. I make $2.13 an hour plus tips....Thats it. When you work 8 hours a day, and only bring home $20....Its kind of discouraging. Remember us...we serve you very well....Leave more than a dollar. Most of us have kids at home...I have 3 of my own...Thanks for all the kind remarks. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Angie I want to thank wsaz for airing the recall today my son got his 4 months shots yesterday i called the doctor immed. and thank the lord that this maker was not the one.thank you som much for staying on top of it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Melanie Huntington to the drug dealers is known as "Moneyton". Sad isn't it? Maybe, if more people would call the police, be advocates in their neigborhoods, or take more of a stand, then we may all be able to " TAKE A BITE OUT OF CRIME". Drug dealers in my opinion rate right up there with child molesters. Simply stated, WASTED HUMANS who deserve absolutly NOTHING! (maybe prison time) But, then we get to pay for them....it is a no win situation unless We as a community take a STAND against such things!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Ashley Hey why don't we just charge Detroit and Coumbus drug dealers a user fee.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Robert Ashley, Huntington has become a Detroit / Columbus suburd and outlet for drugs and the crime it takes to move and support it. A large university and weak police force attracts Huntingtons drug traffic. If Hgtn. is to ever change it will mean increased taxes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Ashley It's so sad at all the OD 'S happening around here. The crime rate is up. What's happening to Huntington? I use to feel safe around here not anymore.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: meme If min wage went up, how is it poss that waitress still only make $2.13 an hour. I think if this was brought to more people s att then They would leave more than $1.00 or $2.00 on a table

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: Vicki Yes it's Christmas time. The retail workers are tired and the waitress feet are killing them. Lets rememeber to give to those less fortunate this year. The bell ringers, the tired waitress or the bum on the street. The feeling that you get is a wonderfull reward.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: amazed I am amazed and disappointed your news station, esp. w/ an hour news cast @5pm,basically only played 3 min (if that) on this tragic story of the teens that were killed. Maybe you need to go out of your comfort zone and be human once n awhile. WSAZ TV has gotten awful. A bomb could land on the Courthouse, but if it interrupted your 'scheduled rehearsed broadcast,' tuff crap! All we would get would b 'tease' then once you did say something, direct us to your web site. Why even have TV anymore, if all your going to do is send us to the site? Your Breaking News Bites! I've seen other newscasts, from other markets, and you know what? They actually show the LIVE unedited BREAKING NEWS! What a concept! Not everyone has a computer. Not everyone has access to DSL or broadband, but almost everyone is interested in the news, esp.in a case like this. I thought your TV coverage was very disrespectful to not only the boys that died, but to the students and friends as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: MIKE AMEN,,God is good i was on heavy drugs for 7 years and by the grace of God he saved me and gave me another chance. If i would have been introduced to God in school i would have never had to go down the road that i did. The only regret that i had about getting saved was that i did not do it sooner. God is in the schools but they are not teaching on him. I have a 15 year old son that is called has been called to preach and goes to school inviting his high school football team to church camp next year by telling them how fun it is MAY GOD BLESS THE ONE WHO DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE WORKS THAT HE HAS DONE AND IS STILL DOING

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by: FOR GOD THIS IS TO ALL THOS POEPLE WHO DONT' THINK GOD SHOLD BE IN OUR SHOOLS. I'HAVE BEEN THROUGH MORE THAN MOST POEPLE ON HERE AND I'AM HERE TO SAY THAT WITHOUT GOD ON MY SIDE I WOULD'NT BE HERE RIGHT NOW. I USED TO USE A LOT OF DRUGS BUT NOW I'AM ALL DONE WITH THAT. THESE TEACHERS THAT THINK GOD SHOLD'NT BE IN SHOOL ARE WRONG AND CRAZY BUT GOD WILL FORGIVE YOU AND ALL OF YOU TOO. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
