For those of you complaining about Christmas credit card debt: How about a resolution to forego your morning coffee and Big Mac meal for lunch and put that extra $5 a day in a savings account? By Christmas 2008 you’ll have saved $1700! And the good news is Christmas comes on the same day every year so there’s no surprises! Then in 2009 you won’t need to worry about credit cards and you can just focus on going to the gym every day! Which if you’ve skipped fast food lunches for a year won’t be as difficult anyhow! You'll start the new year stress free and healthy!

For New Years I'm going to work on trying to tolerate my new "hill-jack" neighbors. Maybe therapy, meditation, yoga, magic or just a giant fence might be my solution.

I want to get even closer with God and to learn more about his word. I also would hope to reconcile with some family that I miss very much and love very much. I also would like to lose weight and live a better life and to also spend more time with my family. I have had a difficult past year and hope this year will be a lot better.

My New Year's resolution is to make things better with my girlfriend. We have been together for about 2 years and things are great, but it would be wonderful to make them even better. I would also like to spend more time with my dad who works in the mines.

Yeah, I want to lose weight, budget more, be better organized, but I have been trying to do that for years. I think this year I want to accept myself for who I am. I just want to be the best ME I can be.

This year I gonna rely on God to give me the courage to do things I'm afraid of. He has always taken care of me, and although I'm getting ready to go through some difficult changes I know once again he will take care of me. Prayers do come true with faith.

My New Year's resolution is for me and my boyfriend to get along better and not argue. We have a great relationship, it would just be better to cut out all arguing.

Oh bless you Nancy, I too had to put down my 13 1/2 yr old black lab, on Dec 15. He had so many health issues. I knew keeping him around was worse for him then the actual dying. I hope you can find peace & comfort in the memories you have of your dog. I had my dog cremated. I wasn't going to at first, then the nurse told me his body would end up at the landfill. I couldn't do that to him, eventhough it was just a shell of who he was. He deserved more than that. Bless you again.

My resolution this year is to stop "borrowing" money off people. Everyday, I'm asking people at school for money and I think it's time for a change.

I had to put my beloved Boxer, Celena, age eight years and eight months, put down on Christmas Eve due to medical problems. My New Years Resolution is to get over the loss with help from family/friends and hopefully, move forward and get another Boxer. The next Boxer won't be like Celena but she/he will be loved and a member of the family as Celena had been during her lifetime.

In the new year, I want to work on my own depression issues so that I can be a better mom, wife, and teacher. I want to lose weight so my boys have a healthy and fit mommy who can play sports with them. I want to deal with stress without shoving food in my mouth. I also will take one night a month just for my husband and I to spend time together without worrying about taking care of the boys.

My resolution is to lose weight. My plan is to lose at least 100-150lbs, simply by changing my eating habits and exercising. I don't think it is an unreachable goal, especially after watching your stories on the folks that lost a lot of weight with no surgery. My weight problems started agter having children 16 years ago, and then struggling through two divorces I have developed diabetes as a result of my being overweight. My children have been encouraging me to lose weight for a couple of years to "be a healthier mom". I hope that I will be successful this year. And I wish all people who are struggling to lose weight much luck.

People make resolutions to better themselves. No one is perfect! I hope in 2008 I can listen with my heart more.

I would like to see the readers on here reslove their mean streaks. So many people making comments about others they don't know. It just too sad that won't happen. I personally don't make resolutions. I know what I need to do in life from day to day. Why should I resolve to be different from who or what I am, for the sake of a new year? I'll always be me.
