To Chris Cummings: if the message we displayed at the bottom of the screen were serious, you would have heard several "beeps" at the start of the message. We decided not to interrupt programming with Clinton's speech, but needed to inform viewers interested in watching it that they could on WSAZ.com. We've only recently had the capability to carry live events on WSAZ.com.

I thought when you put something at the bottom of the screen,It was to warn us of something bad.Tonight you did, to tell former President Clinton was preparing to speak. That was Stupid and uncalled for. If you were going to do something, you should have warned all the Fathers to hide there Wives and daughters, Because the "POONHOUND" was on the loose. All the years President Bush has been in WV I never saw you do this . Thanks for your time.

I just wondered how many other county school systems go thru what ours does. At our "so called" Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine parties at school, the kids aren't allowed to have any "party" foods such as cupcakes, brownies, or homemade items. My kids and I used to look forward to making things together to take to their class at school. Now, they have to watch the fat gram content, etc. I'm all for watching what we eat, but what will it hurt to enjoy a party at school three times a year? Is Mason Co. the only school system that has this rule? I believe in teaching a child eat sugary, fat foods in moderation and to learn to make good choices. What does this teach?

Why do people walk to leave a shopping cart in a parking lot when they can walk the same amount of steps to deposit it safely in a corral (or just leave it sitting)? Tonight, my husband and I were at Wal-Mart and a man did just this. He walked several steps and placed his cart in the middle of the lot, returned to his car, and left the buggy to roll across the lot toward our truck. My husband caught it before it could do damage, but the matter is, why couldn't he walk left or right, a shorter amnount of steps and place it where it should be? My husband and I gathered a few of the loose carts and returned them to the corral so they would not hit other vehicles. This is my thought: Pay a simple courtesy to those low paid individuals who work these sometimes, unsafe lots in all sorts of weather; save the dings on our cars that we all complain about; and walk a little bit, get some exercise, and get healthy!

I ENTERED THE FINDING NEMO DORY MEMORY CONTEST EVERY DAY VERY QUICKLY. AS SOON AS THE WORD OF THE DAY APPEARED I TYPED IT IN THEN SUBMITTED IT. I NEVER WAS DRAWN. MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY SUBMITTED AS WELL AND WE HAVE A VERY LARGE FAMILY. NONE OF US WAS DRAWN EITHER DAYS. WHO WAS THE LUCKY WINNER FOR THE VIP SEATS FRONT ROW SEATS. I CANNOT EVEN SEEM TO FIND THAT OUT. THE CONTEST WAS GREAT BUT SEEMS TO UPSET ME THAT I SUBMITTED SEVERAL TIMES AND CANNOT EVEN SEE WHO WON THE VIP SEATS OR WHO THE FIVE WINNERS WAS OF EACH DAY. IF YOUR GONNA HAVE A CONTEST AT LEAST LET THE CONTESTANTS THAT ENTER KNOW THE WINNER OF THE DAY/AND OR THE GRAND PRIZE THIS REALLY SUCKS FOR ALL THE GREAT WORK WE PUT INTO FOR THE CONTEST.

I am so tired of dealing with my neighbors cats crapping on my flowers, tearing out the trash and climbing on and scratching my vehicles. I don't have a problem with cleaning up after my dog, afterall it is my responsibility. I just wish that people would do the same with their cats or the stray cats that they have taken in.

Margaret-Hello are you nuts? I am a parent of four. I teach kindergarten. I don't know why you think that the school system is responsible for making daycare arrangements for children. It is the parents job to have alternative care. The purpose of two hour delays is to prevent kids from being on the roads in dangerous conditions and not to torture parents. Many parents were very upset by Wednesday's lack of two hour delay in Putnam County. The children are the number one priority. If the lady you mentioned cared more about her kids instead of work, she would see that the kids are more important. There are new places of employment everywhere. You can't bring your child back if something happens to them. The two hour delay doesn't increase employee absences. The absences that I see from students are those whose parents felt that their child need not travel the dangerous roads. I think you are off your rocker if you think that the safety of the kids shouldn't come first.

Regarding the comment posted by "Student at LCHS", Your opinion counts, but please say it nicely. Let my comment be of encouragement to you. The best and easiest job you will ever have is being a student. You will not earn dollars and cents, but if you shut up and listen you will gain knowledge and sense and earn a diploma that no one can take away. I'm sure that Mr. Roach worked long & hard to gain his position of authority. Please don't be disrespectful just because you don't agree with his decisions. There may be factors to consider that you don't know about. Think about how lucky you are - my boss never closes my office just because it snowed and we're never on a 2-hr delay. We don't get make up days or get to take work home if we are sick. Yes, being a student is the easiest job you will ever have. Get all the education you can, while you can. You deserve the best and opportunities are being provided. It is up to you to make the most of them. Go for it and git 'er done.

I have a concern. The two hour delays that are so common in bad weather months. Is there not some other way to handle this? I have personally witnessed a mother making 5 am phone calls looking for assistance. The mother needed to be at work at 6:30 a.m. A two hour delay is limbo. Could the school systems consider having a rotation of teachers that would "man" the gym or the cafeteria, allowing students to come at the regular time if parents are willing to transport? These teachers could have a little "special topics" discussion that would appeal to all who are waiting for the start of the regular session. This would allow the parents to at least have some plan. If school is cancelled, the only issue would be child care for the remainder of the day. I believe that the two hour delay increases employee absences, or if not that, then child absences from school, because the parent is forced to make some sort of a plan that covers all possibilities.

i want to yell about the fact that i am sure that there will be no two hour delay tomorrow morning even though ice will surely be a problem. Our children do not need to have their lives at risk like they did this morning. I will not take my child until the roads are clear tomorrow. We are lucky no students were hurt this morning in Putnam County. I don't want to hear anymore about the buses already being on their way. Send them back to the garage or the house they park at. I would rather tax money be wasted in gas on empty buses that make part of a drive instead of our children's lives being risked. I hope that someone airs this so that the county office realizes that this is a news worthy problem.

This is for Rob and the others who write in a simular fashion. How about using some capitals and punctuation marks so the sentences make sense.

How tragic people still go to bed without a working inexpensive smoke detector. This is the dumbest thing I can think of. Lets pray for people to have the above detecters.

Putnam county schools should be on a two hour delay. my husband wrecked in our own driveway already. The people on the hill need to quit waiting on Kanawha County to make the decisisons. It is never too late to delay school. I pray no child gets hurt this morning.

Lisa, you may always receive your mail, but the postal worker that "serves" my area is incompetent. He only shows up 4 days a week, he puts other residents' mail (some right next door) in my mail box, and has lost important documents on three occasions. I don't depend on the US Fail for anything important. I can hardly wait for the day when we don't need mail carriers.

People need to stop complaining about the 1 cent postage rate increase. I think 42 cents is a bargain for mailing a letter clear across the United States if needed. Pay bills online or locally if you desire. And consider this: How many letters, bills, envelopes or likewise have you mailed and how many have not reached their destination? That's dependability. And, no, I don't work at the post office nor do I know anyone personally who does :-).

This story really raised my frustration level with news media! My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Sean DiCristofara since his practice opened in Teays Valley. I am a professional person myself and won't let the opportunity pass to express what a wonderful, caring doctor Sean is. I feel very valued as a patient when he walks into the office. Any medical concern I have is addressed. I am never rushed. I am important. There is always follow through and follow up after the visit. Dr. DiCristofara's practice is so full that it is difficult to get in! It is unfortunate that this negative perspective is a cover story. This Dr. is so loved and respected by his patients! I daresay six months of leave won't make a dent in his overflowing practice! Also, isn't it logical to address all questions to his lawyer? You make it sound as though his lawyer didn't return your calls because he has something to hide.

I would like to applaud the 5:30 news team for there coverage of the two tragic stories of children dying in house fires. And the school shooting that took place. And the fact that they mentioned prayer and the importance of it in situations like this. When prayer has been taken out of most all public functions and it is the one thing that is needed in this world. So thank you for mentioning the need for prayer in times of trouble.

Look at the WV Legislators and what they are doing while in session. As far as I can see they aren't doing anything for us, just adding more burden. Every West Virginian needs to get out and vote (if not registered you should), and show them what we think. With the exception of a few, we should not elect any incumbent. We keep electing the same idiots and they are running this state into the ground. Please vote!

What can be done to encourage the use of smoke detectors? I took my out because they went off frequently during cooking and showering. Not a good ideal. Smoke detectors are mostly needed during night hours while family members are asleep. Has anyone seen a smoke detector with programmable hours of use. I'll be looking for this type, smoke detectors are going back in my home! Thoughts and prayers are for those who have past. Action is for the living.

My heart goes out to the families who have lost children in fires the past week. It is very tragic when anyone loses a life and it doesn't help when they are children. My thoughts and prayers are with each family.
